A Right Livelihood Initiative: Jambhala Services Pvt Ltd. (JSPL), Pune

Right livelihood is central to the Buddhist vision of transformation of self and world. In fact, from a Buddhist perspective all human activities need to be transformed according to the higher vision, Bodhi. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar planned to start a “trading company” with the help of the Burmese Government in order to fund the Buddhist movement and to train Dhamma preachers. In order to instill new hope amongst the younger generation of Buddhists in India and to take advantage of the emerging opportunities due to the competitive advantage of low labour costs, Jambudvipa is starting a business in the BPO area. Jambhala Services Pvt Ltd. (JSPL) is an important aspect of vision of Jambudvipa.

'Jambhala' is an ancient symbol, which represents the transformation of wealth and prosperity to support the Buddhist life. Numerous variants of 'Jambhala' are found in ancient Buddhist caves of Ajanta and images found in southern India.

To start with, JSPL is venturing into the financial service area, but eventually we hope to not only develop further in this area but also explore other areas of business, thus creating human and capital resources.

JSPL is driven by Nitin salve, who is a production engineer from a reputed institute. He worked with a private company and with a nationalized bank for a few years. In order to explore the business area, he pursued his MBA in finance from Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He specialised in risk management area. He is also a consultant, and the founding president of Indian Strategic Management Association which deals in innovations in business processes.

Those who are interested in supporting the JSPL initiative in any form, may kindly contact, Nitin on email: nitin@jambudvipa.org and on phone number: 020-26696812. He does not have a mobile !!!
