The Manuski Centre, Pune

The Marathi word “Manuski” was very important to Dr. Ambedkar, having implications of humanity, respect and compassion.

The Jambudvipa Trust started the Manuski Centre in Pune to run its activities. These consist of:

  1. Training workshops.
  2. Lectures and seminars.
  3. Advice on administration, legal matters, project development and fundraising.
  4. A library specialising in social work, the Indian social reform movement, Buddhism, and Dr. Ambedkar.
  5. Advice to organisations funding Indian NGOs.
  6. Raising funds for projects run by other NGOs such as those listed under “Current Projects”.
  7. Classes in Buddhist meditation and study, as well as residential retreats.
  8. Establishing an education fund to help very poor students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
