What is INEB?

International Network of Engaged Buddhism (INEB) is under the patronage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Venerable Somdet Phra Maha Ghosananda, and Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh. Founded in 1987, INEB is the first international Buddhists worldwide. INEB deals with alternative education and spiritual training, gender issues, human rights, ecology, alternative concepts of development, and activism. Primarily a Buddhist network, INEB encompasses interfaith elements.

Objectives and Goals

1. To share and exchange the common issues and interests between the organizations in the Engaged Buddhism sector to enhance the network.

2. Empower and enhance solidarity among the engaged Buddhists for the responsibilities of the society.

3. To provide an opportunity for Buddhists from different cultures and traditions to exchange information about their challenges and the way they overcome the problem.

4. To offer a chance for participants to share their experiences both with their spiritual practice and their activities.
